Paris Vegan Day / Eco Fashion Show

It's taken a while, but finally collected few photos of the Eco Fashion Show at Paris Vegan Days 2011. Even though the circumstances were quite challenging (boiling hot, unexpected over 40C in October, no window in the room, no electricity) it was just the perfect scenario to really put the OCS finishing products to the test.

All the models were vegan activists so it was truly inspiring
and a completely different experience from any other fashion shows.

This style was inspired by one of my favourite eras: the Golden Age of Hollywood.

Colour change/correction

Using Organic Colour Systems makes it possible to change you hair colour without any damage even if it involves pre-lightening or a bleach-bath.

In the first case the roots were grey, then a glowing red "band"
with dull and dry ends.
The result - a shiny medium golden blonde shade - speaks for itself.

In the second case the client was bored with her darkest brown colour.
The result is a golden brown base with dark golden blonde foils.

In both cases after stripping the colour I used OCS's Revamp Reconstructor treatment with wheat protein to prepare my canvas for colouring. (:

Chop chop...

I had a sweet little visitor who came with her vegan Mum and was determined to get her Rapunzel hair cut a LOT shorter.
She was very pleased with the result. (:

You can really see the healthy shine and smoothness from the Organic Care Systems shampoo and conditioner!

Vegan Bleach

Yep, yep it is possible! Naturlite Lightening Powder from Organic Colour Systems is completely free from ammonia and does not dry out hair allowing it to retain moisture. The non-ammonia formula contains natural active ingredients such as
- wheat proteins which leaves the hair smooth and undamaged,
-Bisabolol which is derived from Chamomile and provides scalp protection,
helping to reduce risk of irritation,
-and Panthenol (vitamin B) which acts as a good conditioner...

No damage or dryness!

But see it for yourselves, just done this full head bleaching yesterday (;

Paris Vegan Day

There's pretty much one thing on my mind recently: Paris Vegan Day. The reason for my excitement on top of that it's awesome in itself, is that this years there's going to be an Eco Fashion Show (1st of October) and I've been asked to do the hair! Have loads of ideas and tried the different styles on friends, but will post the pictures after the show. So if any of you will be there come and say hi! And if you don't know where to stay, here's my recommendation: The Gentle Gourmet.

End of wedding season

This year was special as few of my close friends got married during the summer. Usually weddings mean I get up early, calm the bride, make her hair beautiful, sometimes sew the bridesmaid's dress she just ripped and deal with other last minute disasters... then go to work. So it was exceptionally nice to enjoy the parties after the hectic mornings. Here are some photos of the gorgeous brides and happy couples:

A bit about me...

I've been vegan for about 7 years and hairdressing is my absolute passion. I remember being about 4, answering "scissors" to what my favourite toy was. (My parents weren't that obsessed with health and safety.) So after making the family proud by finishing university I put my degree in a drawer -where it still is- and gone into hairdressing straight away. One of my best decisions ever! I finally felt I was where I belonged.
The only thing that bugged me for years was all the chemicals and non-animal friendly products I was surrounded by. As soon as I felt ready, decided to fulfil my dream of doing what I love the way I think it's best and most importantly with cruelty free, top quality products.
After a thorough search I found Organic Colour Systems and here I am in London running my vegan hair salon! E-mail me for infos and directions!
I always have some vegan biscuits and soya milk for a nice cuppa!
I start this blog to share my enthusiasm for veganism and beautiful hair.
